Quantum Algorithm and Application: Encoding, Simulation and Machine Learning
Objective
IBM Quantum has been the leader in Quantum Technology in both hardware, middleware, and software. We have latest 156 qubits Heron processor chip which has capability to solve complex problems. Recently, several institutions has show-cased utility scale experiments (100 qubit region) on IBM Quantum machine. The quantum advantage will be a natural extension of the utility, which is nearby. It is a great opportunity to devise new algorithms and applications for novel use-cases. This GRM project will explore deep technical questions, with mathematical inside and numerical experimentation on real quantum hardware. We aim to come up with new encoding schemes, optimal (in terms of time or gate complexity, circuit depth etc.) quantum circuit design for various operators, and machine learning tasks. The main objective will be developing algorithms for utility scale experiments such as Chemistry and Signal Processing.
Outcome
The main outcome expected is to devise new quantum encoding and simulation algorithm, and various novel applications such as in health care and life sciences, and signal processing for communications etc.
